Incite Indianapolis Project Manager
Brittany is a wonderful addition to our Incite team. She is passionate about making a difference in her community and looks forward to putting her organizational and project management skills to work - using the power of media for good! She has extensive marketing and higher education experience that are true assets to Incite.
Brittany comes to Incite from Butler University where she supported the Alumni and Parent Program Officers. Prior to that, she managed the office of a small nonprofit organization focused on public policy and advocacy work - connecting college students with positive financial resources.
What charity or cause are you personally passionate about and why?
I have always had a passion making a difference - not only in the world but in my immediate community. My past cause-related work includes volunteering with United Way of Central Indiana, Center for Leadership Development, and the IUPUI Upward Bound program - all of which focus on tutoring and mentoring at-risk youth from various Indianapolis urban areas. I am extremely passionate about this cause because it directly affects our community and our future. By instilling values, cultivating these younger generations, and establishing those positive habits early, we inspire everyone else to do even just a little bit better. And that, in turn, helps the future become that much brighter.
What is the coolest concert you have ever attended and why?
This one is EXTREMELY difficult to answer – I am a huge concert person and usually attend about 8-10 a year. If I had to pick one, I would say Stone Temple Pilots in 2010 at the Lawn at White River State Park. Not only is STP one of my many favorite bands, but those guys really knew how to entertain! Great show!
What do you like most about working at Incite?
Although I am new to the Incite team, I have really enjoyed getting to learn in depth about the various ways that Incite engages and connects these great causes to the rest of the world through entertainment. I find it wonderful to be amongst other individuals who are adamant about making a difference and have dedicated a good portion of their time to being involved in community/world-changing work. Through collaboration and using our unique talents and tools, I am certain that this team is going to do amazing things – and am happy to be a part of that!
When you are not working, what kinds of things do you like doing?
In my free time, it is not often that you will catch me without my guitar in my hands – I am a huge music person. My husband and I are also adrenaline junkies and enjoy all things with a lot of horsepower! We love Indy's craft beer scene and traveling to new places. We also have a 15-month old son, who keeps us very busy and involved!
Why is making a difference in people’s lives important to you?
It is truly an accomplishment to connect and establish some form of positive change in people and to know that you played a part in that process. By doing good things and paying it forward, you bring an element of “infectious positivity” into your inner circle which then spreads to another circle...and another larger circle – and before you know it, everyone is positively affected. I am a firm believer that if you put good vibes and positivity out into the world, it always circles back around, and that is a cycle that I want to perpetuate – the cycle of positive change. It is a great thing to watch.
