What charity or cause are you personally passionate about and why?
There are so many charities that I support and believe in. One that really resonates with me is Luol Deng Foundation. Luol Deng is a successful NBA player who currently plays for the Los Angeles Lakers. He was born in my home country, England. Deng's goal is to provide opportunity to youth through basketball in Africa, USA and UK. Deng uses the game of basketball as a tool to Inspire, Empower and Nurture youth talent around the world. This foundation is meaningful to me as Deng's story is one I can relate to, and feel a shared sense of social responsibility in. As a British athlete who had a collegiate basketball career in the United States, I hope to one day start a foundation similar to Deng's, and help the youth of England better themselves and their lives through the game of basketball.
What is the coolest concert you have ever attended and why?
The coolest concert I have ever attended was hands down Kanye West's Graduation Tour in London, England. Not only was it my first live concert ever, it was also (in my opinion) at the time of Kanye's best album (Graduation), and every song was an absolute hit!
What do you like most about working at Incite?
The people - Getting to work with smart, motivated and like-minded individuals on a daily basis is awesome. There's no better feeling than being a part of a team where everyone on that team buys in. Incite is a prime example of that team, and the synergy in our work is proof of that.
The results - I know that the work we do at Incite is genuinely helping people. Whether we impact one person, a group of people or a whole community. No matter how big or small the victory, we help influence or create change for the better. It makes you feel like a good person working here.
“We can choose to be affected by the world or we can choose to affect the world.” - Heidi Wills
When you are not working, what kinds of things do you like doing?
When I'm not working I like to workout and stay fit. I enjoy playing soccer in the summer and basketball year round. I spend time with my good friends, and have good times. I also have a golden doodle puppy named Bentley! I love taking him for walks along the canal here in Indianapolis. Outside of that, I like to talk with my family and friends regularly back home in the UK.
Why is making a difference in people’s lives important to you?
I believe we all have a social responsibility as people on this earth to empower one another. I don't want to go through life without helping others, or positively impacting those around me or within my reach. I think I'm the happiest when I'm helping others, and to me that's the meaning of life; Happiness.
"When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down 'happy'. They told me I didn't understand the assignment, and I told them they didn't understand life." - John Lennon
